Shannon Lindsey Blanton Elected to Omicron Delta Kappa Board of Trustees
Omicron Delta Kappa announces the election of Shannon Lindsey Blanton to its Board of Trustees. A 2022 O∆K initiate and inaugural dean of the Honors College at UAB, Blanton brings extensive experience in student success, honors education, academic leadership, international relations, and leadership development. O∆K looks forward to the insight and expertise she will bring to the Society.
Lexington, VA, September 19, 2026 --(PR.com)-- Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society, proudly announces the election of Shannon Lindsey Blanton to its Board of Trustees. An accomplished higher education leader, scholar, and advocate for student success, Blanton brings extensive experience in honors education, academic leadership, international relations, and leadership development to the national board.
Jennifer L. Waller, O∆K president and chief executive officer, made the announcement.
“Omicron Delta Kappa is thrilled to welcome Shannon Lindsey Blanton to our Board of Trustees. Her commitment to student success, leadership development, and the ideals of O∆K will be a tremendous asset to the Society,” Waller said.
Blanton, a 2022 initiate of the O∆K Circle at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, serves as the inaugural dean of the Honors College at UAB, where she has led growth in student success initiatives, academic pathways, and honors programming. She is also a professor of political science and public administration and a senior scientist with the Institute for Human Rights. A scholar of U.S. foreign policy and international relations, Blanton is a co-author of "World Politics: Trend and Transformation" and has published research on honors education and leadership. Her leadership experience includes serving as vice provost for undergraduate programs, department chair, and faculty adviser to UAB’s O∆K Circle.
