Neon Sky Film Festival Launches Filmmaker Support Initiative for Cordillera 2026 Submitters

Las Vegas, NV, October 02, 2026 --(PR.com)-- Following the cancellation of the 2026 Cordillera International Film Festival, Neon Sky Film Festival is launching a filmmaker support initiative to help filmmakers who submitted their work to the Reno/Tahoe festival keep their films moving.

Filmmakers who submitted their films to Cordillera 2026 can receive a complimentary FilmFreeway submission code to Neon Sky Film Festival by providing a screenshot or copy of their 2026 submission confirmation.

Cordillera International Film Festival had been scheduled to take place October 1-5, 2026, in the Reno/Tahoe region. In August, organizers announced that the 2026 festival would not take place.

For Neon Sky Film Festival, the initiative is not about replacing one festival with another. It is about recognizing the work filmmakers have already put into their projects and bringing their films to audiences.

“A film is so much more than just a film. It’s the script, the crew, the long days on set, the editing, the sound mixing, and everything that goes into getting that story ready to share,” said Rose Watson, co-founder & Festival Director of Neon Sky Film Festival. “For us, it’s about the films and the people who made them. We want to give these filmmakers another opportunity to keep their work moving forward and introduce it to another audience.”

The initiative reflects Neon Sky’s broader mission of creating a platform for bold, independent storytelling and emerging voices while building stronger connections between filmmakers, audiences, and the Las Vegas creative community.

“Filmmakers put an incredible amount of time, money, and creative energy into making their work,” Watson added. “When one opportunity changes, the work doesn’t stop. Your film still deserves an audience.”

Filmmakers who submitted a film to Cordillera 2026 can:

Email Neon Sky Film Festival at info@neonskyfilmfest.com with the subject line “Cordillera.”

Provide a screenshot or copy of their 2026 FilmFreeway submission confirmation.
Receive a complimentary Neon Sky Film Festival submission code.

The initiative is intended for filmmakers who submitted to the 2026 Cordillera International Film Festival. Submission confirmations will be verified privately.
