International Feng Shui Guild Publishes New Print Edition of Glossary of Universal Feng Shui Terms
Lee's Summit, MO, October 09, 2026 --(PR.com)-- The International Feng Shui Guild (IFSG) has published a new print edition of its Glossary of Universal Feng Shui Terms, bringing a longstanding professional resource into paperback for the first time.

Originally researched and compiled in 2006, the glossary was created to support a shared understanding of Feng Shui terminology across a diverse and global community. Twenty years later, the IFSG has revisited the resource for a new edition designed to serve today’s practitioners, students, schools, and Feng Shui enthusiasts.

“Feng Shui is both ancient and evolving,” said Deb Dermyer-Lamb, CEO of the International Feng Shui Guild. “There are different schools, methodologies, interpretations, and ways of practicing around the world. A shared vocabulary doesn’t eliminate those differences. It gives us a common foundation from which we can learn from one another, communicate more clearly, and continue to strengthen the profession.”

The Glossary of Universal Feng Shui Terms includes terminology spanning foundational Feng Shui principles, traditional concepts, methods, tools, energetic influences, Chinese metaphysics, and commonly used alternate names and spellings. Chinese terms are primarily presented using the Pinyin system of translation, with cross-references to older spellings and alternate terminology readers may encounter in Feng Shui books, courses, and other resources.

Rather than attempting to represent every interpretation within a field as diverse as Feng Shui, the glossary focuses on terminology that is widely recognized and broadly accepted throughout the profession.

The original glossary was researched and compiled by Lynne Ashdown, Rosalie Prinzivalli, and Yasha Jampolsky on behalf of the International Feng Shui Guild, with Dr. Edgar Sung and Cindy Chan contributing to the standardization of Pinyin translations. The original work was donated to the IFSG, which has preserved the resource as part of its educational mission.

The new edition reflects the Guild’s continued commitment to education, professionalism, and greater understanding within the international Feng Shui community.

“For any profession or field of study to grow and evolve, a common vocabulary matters,” Dermyer-Lamb said. “Our hope is that this glossary becomes the kind of reference people keep within reach, whether they are just beginning to study Feng Shui or have been practicing professionally for decades.”

The Glossary of Universal Feng Shui Terms is now available in paperback and Kindle editions through Amazon.
