She later graduated from the University of North Texas in 2006, becoming the first in her family to earn a bachelor’s degree in education. After ten years of teaching, health challenges forced her to leave the classroom. Inspired by her faith and passion for literacy, she turned to writing to continue serving children and readers around the world.
