Recent Release, "Sicarios," from Newman Springs Publishing Author Jake Kaminski, Explores an Elite Task Force Battling a Ruthless Cartel

Jefferson City, MO, October 26, 2026 --(PR.com)-- Jake Kaminski has completed a gripping new book, "Sicarios" that pits Ethan Crowe, a former Army Ranger commanding an elite team of special forces operators and Native American trackers, against the Zeta cartel. Operating in the harsh desert borderlands, Crowe's team systematically dismantles the cartel's supply chain, funneling billions of dollars in fentanyl and heroin northward under the command of a shadowy leader known only as Yaotl. As their success mounts, Yaotl's fury intensifies, prompting him to dispatch assassins across the border with a chilling mandate: eliminate the Crowe family at Pine Ridge Reservation in the Dakotas.

The author draws from his extensive background as a highly decorated undercover operative who successfully infiltrated the Cali and Medellin cartels while working in Miami and Latin America. Following his distinguished police career, Kaminski served fourteen years as a senior adviser for the US government in postwar regions including Bosnia, Croatia, Kosovo, and Montenegro. His multilingual expertise and firsthand knowledge of cartel operations and conflict zones infuse "Sicarios" with authentic detail and credible tension. His previous novels, Shadow Wolves and Beneath the Polish Moon, garnered the Silver Medal in the Reader's Favorite Book Competition and the Gold Medal in the 2022 Global Book Awards respectively.

"Sicarios" reveals the high stakes of a covert war where ordinary families become targets and unlikely defenders emerge as protectors. Readers will discover that watching over Crowe's family are battle-hardened warriors possessing a distinctive skill set honed through years of adversity. As the cartel's assassins close in on the reservation, an extraordinary confrontation unfolds—a clash between ruthless violence and seasoned resilience that will test everything these protectors hold dear. The novel explores themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and the moral ambiguity of those who operate in shadow to preserve security for others.

"My experience working undercover against organized crime and later advising on conflict resolution in war-torn regions gave me insight into the brutal realities that rarely make headlines," said Kaminski. "In 'Sicarios,' I wanted to create a story that honors the men and women who stand in the gap between chaos and civilization, while portraying the genuine stakes of contemporary threats that most people never see coming."

Published by Newman Springs Publishing, Jake Kaminski's compelling work delivers readers into a world where traditional rules of engagement dissolve and survival depends on courage, cunning, and unwavering commitment. This riveting narrative underscores the price paid by those willing to confront evil in its most organized forms.

Readers who wish to experience this pulse-pounding work can purchase "Sicarios" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.
