New York, NY, August 06, 2008 --(PR.com
)-- The nonprofit organization Designers for Darfur (DFD) is pleased to announce the launch of their newly designed website provided by media partner, Ingenium Media, Inc. (www.ingeniummedia.com). The updated Adobe Flash programmed website is located at www.designersfordarfur.org and showcases the humanitarian organization’s mission, upcoming and previous events, participating designers’ roster, media partnerships, strategic allies, marketing campaigns, DFD’s blog as well as provides individual donations and corporate sponsorship opportunities.
The design of the newly launched DFD website was derived from both the rich cultural elements of the fashion industry as well as the amazing landscape of the Sudan. Visitors to the site will immediately notice the feel and texture placed in the main content area as well as the real life quality of the masterfully framed hi-resolution photos taken in Darfur by photographer Lindsey Addario. There is also a Polaroid style fashion gallery which gives visitors a sneak-peak into the designs of the organization’s high-profile roster of members including Donna Karan, Carmen Marc Valvo, Naeem Kahn, Catherine Malandrino, Mal Sirrah and many other international fashion designers. Visitors will also enjoy the simple navigation throughout the entire site via the quick buttons located on the right hand bottom area which allows users to quickly find different media outlets for information about the crisis in Darfur. There is also a newsletter feature which stays present throughout the visit providing the humanitarian organization an ongoing contact collection component.
Designers for Darfur truly believe this newly launched website will allow them to engage and inspire visitors as the organization moves forward with their efforts in helping the suffering people of Darfur.
More about Designers for Darfur:
Designers for Darfur was founded in 2006 by fashion designer Malcolm Harris (Mal Sirrah, Inc.) and co-chaired by model/heiress Lydia Hearst (Hearst Corporation). In association with Fashion Television and The Save Darfur Coalition, Designers for Darfur was launched via an unprecedented charity fashion show held on February 9, 2007 (the climax of New York Fashion Week) at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City.
Designers for Darfur’s mission focuses on the three key components: education, advocacy and relief efforts by partnering with organizations such as Save Darfur, Doctors Without Borders and The International Rescue Committee. Designers for Darfur has now come to represent hundreds of international designers, artists and the wider creative community collectively banding together to show their commitment and solidarity towards ending the atrocity of genocide currently taking place in Darfur.
