Indie Band Powder will Play Live at the Key Club in Hollywood on May 20th, 2006
L.A. Indie Scene's production crew will be at Powder's live show on May 20th to do fan interviews and provide media coverage of the show. Footage gathered at the show may also be used for the reality show that L.A. Indie Scene is launching this summer on cable TV.
Hollywood, CA, April 27, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Indie bands in Hollywood, and pretty much everywhere else in the world, have been underestimated for too long. Many of these bands, although extremely talented and with powerful stage shows to offer, have neither a record label supporting them nor media coverage to document their live events.
All of this is about to change, however, now that L.A. Indie Scene is here. Initially founded as a print magazine to be distributed locally in the L.A. area, L.A. Indie Scene is now a film production company with many projects in the works, all of which seek to unite the independent artists in Southern California and, someday, the world.
Most filmmakers and musicians in L.A. currently have to work as freelancers if they want to get paid at all. Freelance jobs come and go, without the benefit of health insurance, retirement plans or paid vacation time. Major studios take advantage of the fact that there are so many unemployed filmmakers and musicians who are willing to work under substandard conditions just to pursue their dream careers.
By providing free media coverage to indie bands in Hollywood, as well as hiring independent filmmakers to do this job, L.A. Indie Scene seeks to inspire a grassroots movement that will revolutionize the history of independent art in Los Angeles, focusing mainly on music and film, but also including photography and web design.
L.A. Indie Scene's production crew will be at the Key Club on Saturday, May 20th, to support the band Powder--a band whose success in the mainstream music scene is long overdue.
