Local Harford County Architect, Paul Edmeades, Elected Vice-Chair of Maryland State Board of Architects

Baltimore, MD, August 18, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Maryland State Board of Architects elected Paul D. Edmeades of Harford County, as Vice-Chair of the Board last week. Edmeades, President of Edmeades & Stromdahl, Ltd. Architects/Planners brings over 35 years of architectural and community leadership experience to the State Board.

The State Board of Architects qualifies and licenses individuals seeking licensure and issues permits to business entities through which architecture is practiced. Edmeades, a member of the Board since 2006, has made significant contributions to the organization. His most recent contribution is leading a comprehensive review and rewriting the current Maryland regulations for licensing architects, currently under review by the Board.

Throughout his career, Edmeades has been responsible for overseeing and coordinating the design of numerous architectural projects on the east coast. He has participated in the research of energy conservation and he attempts to develop each structure into an environmentally-friendly building. Regarded as an expert in the design and development of fire facilities, Edmeades has served as key speaker for numerous Fire Training Seminars, including the last four Burn Building Design Symposia organized by the Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute (MFRI). Edmeades, who currently resides in Bel Air with wife Marie, also serves on the Historic Preservation Commission for the Town of Bel Air.
