Friends and supporters of Rancho Santiago Community College District in Santa Ana, CA, celebrated “A Decade of Distinction” at the Disneyland Hotel on October 12, generating much needed funds for student scholarships. The black tie optional event raised a record $135,000. Women Without Borders Forum Provides Tools for Doing Business in the U.S., Mexico, and Central America
To help business women maximize business opportunities, the Institute for Women Entrepreneurs has joined forces with MIPEK, the Mexican Consulate, the El Salvador Consulate to present, “Business Women without Borders 2007.” The two-day forum, presented in Spanish with English simultaneous translation, takes place Friday, October 26 and Saturday, October 27 in Anaheim, CA. "Playing for Time" is based on the autobiography of Fania Fenelon, a popular Parisian singer, who was arrested and sent to Auschwitz. Becoming a member of Auschwitz’s small women’s orchestra, Fania experiences the horrors and degradation of the Nazi death camp, yet never loses hope, even as the Allied Forces are approaching, the killing increases, and the emotional pressure on those still living becomes shattering.
