Puna Kamalii Flowers, Inc. is Honored by Governor Linda Lingle

PR.com)-- Puna Kamalii Flowers, Inc. was awarded as the Minority Champions of the Year for 2006 by Governor Linda Lingle in Hilo Hawaii on Monday, April 12th, 2006. Governor Lingle personally presented the award to Tom and Vicki Nelson while acknowledging she has read all about their positive employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities at Puna Kamalii Flowers, Inc.
During the ceremony, Governor Lingle made references of appreciation for Puna Kamalii Flowers, Inc. involvement in innovative and creative ways to employ individuals with developmental disabilities who would not normally have access to mainstream employment without the support system of job coaching.
Puna Kamalii Flowers, Inc. began in 1998, with one individual with developmental disabilities who needed a job. That person is the son of Tom and Vicki Nelson. Puna Kamalii Flowers, Inc. supports the disabled with employment training, job coaching services, and on going evaluation.
