Midway International Protects Assets and Streamlines Preventive Maintenance with Asset Management System by Eagle Technology, Inc.

Company announces latest software program Proteus MMX, offering airport improvement with latest bar coding capability which streamlines and automates preventive maintenance operations and inventory tracking for Midway International.

Mequon, WI, March 12, 2015 --(PR.com)-- After releasing their new software program only a short time ago, Eagle Technology, Inc. is already expanding their operations by pairing up with high-track airports including Midway International Airport in Chicago, Illinois. The airport ranks 27th in terms of number of annual passengers in the United States as stated on the Midway's website.

The system is known as Proteus MMX and is being utilized by Midway International. The system consists of various modules that can be customized to fit maintenance by tracking an asset’s history – which saves both time and money. It’s just one more tool specifically designed to help airport personnel work more efficiently, while also being more user friendly compared to older software.

Skyline Management Group (SMG), which administers Midway International Airport’s (MDW) terminal preventive maintenance (PM) program, previously purchased a different web-based solution to manage both preventive and on-demand maintenance, parts inventory, labor, and purchasing. It goes without saying that the program was heavily outdated.

It makes sense why they inevitably chose Eagle Technology, Inc. -- the leading provider in airport maintenance management (CMMS) software. Their latest program, Proteus MMX features a robust tracking system hosted on the Eagle Technology cloud-based platform. The system is now fully integrated with MDW’s building automation systems to generate automated work orders upon receipt of alarms, runtimes and other triggers.

“The new system saves us money and time. It’s one more tool to help our engineers and electricians be better at what they do and is much more user friendly,” says Steve Caruso, SMG Chief Engineer of the Midway International Airport.

The airport’s old MP2 program, which worked off a Windows 98 platform, pushed out work orders, creating a time consuming and cumbersome process that was ineffective.

“The new system is much more proactive,” Caruso informs. “It tracks our inventory so we know when we have—say, two belts left and we need to order more. If we have questions, we can pull up supply levels quickly.”

Proteus MMX operates in real time with MDW’s building automation system and generates work orders triggered by sensors within the facility. For example, if there is a drop in static pressure in an air handling unit or a problem with the HVAC network, the program will signal an alert as well as track the cost to fix the problem. The work order is kept open until the problem is addressed.

“From a spill on the floor to a burnt out light, everything is tracked within the system. At the end of the month, we are able to supply the city with data showing what we’ve done and the number of hours it took us to complete the work—in effect, justifying our function within the airport. So it’s a good tool for the city in that it allows them to evaluate the job we’re doing,” comments Caruso.

Since the installation of Proteus, not only is Spokane International Airport more efficient, but they are working smarter. According to Ken Landrus, Maintenance Superintendent at Spokane International: "It is a better busy. More things are planned and we are not blindsided by surprising events or demand maintenance that needs to be done. It allows for a more calming and pleasant workforce."

The success of their customers is the most important part of Eagle Technology’s business, which is why they offer a 100% Success Guarantee. They understand that managing airport operations is a tough job. Now with Proteus MMX, users can gain access to all the functionality they need to manage airport facilities operations successfully, efficiently, and safely.
