Run 3k at The Travel Convention to Give Kids a Break

The Family Holiday Association is challenging Travel Convention delegates to take part in a 3km fun run while in Gran Canaria to raise funds to help disadvantaged families with young children have a break away by the sea.

London, United Kingdom, September 19, 2008 --(PR.com)-- The Family Holiday Association is challenging those attending The Travel Convention in Gran Canaria next month, to take part in a 3km fun run and raise funds to give young families living in poverty the chance to have a break away.

The fun run, which is organised by Argyle Recruitment and Gran Canaria Tourist Board and sponsored by Citybond Suretravel, is being held after sessions on Tuesday 7th of October along the Meloneras Promenade, close to the convention hotels.

Entry for the fun run is £20 per person or £100 for a team of six to ten, and runners can register online at http://tinyurl.com/funrun or by phoning 020 7323 7292.

Runners will be treated to refreshments and prize-giving at a post-race reception hosted by Gran Canaria tourist board.

Joe Hipgrave, Family Holiday Association Fundraising Manager said “ We are hoping to raise £10,000 at The Travel Convention, which will give around 20 families the chance to enjoy what for many will be their first ever time away together as a family. We need at least 50 runners to help us reach this target, so come on the travel industry and put on your running shoes – you can walk, jog or run but please take part!”
