Rare! A Wine Masterpiece

RARE! A wine masterpiece, takes place 7 – 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at the Coach Insignia in the GM Renaissance Center. Nearly 100 exquisite wines from around the world will be uncorked for sampling in an unparalleled strolling wine tasting and dinner, designed by the Matt Prentice Restaurant Group. Now in its third year, the event benefits Henry Ford Hospital’s Heart & Vascular Institute (HVI).

Detroit, MI, September 24, 2008 --(PR.com)-- RARE! A wine masterpiece, takes place 7 – 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, at the Coach Insignia in the GM Renaissance Center.

Nearly 100 exquisite wines from around the world will be uncorked for sampling in an unparalleled strolling wine tasting and dinner, designed by the Matt Prentice Restaurant Group.

Now in its third year, the event benefits Henry Ford Hospital’s Heart & Vascular Institute (HVI). The HVI’s co-director, Dr. W. Douglas Weaver is currently president of the American College of Cardiology and a wine aficionado.

Collaborating with RARE! are Michigan’s only three Master Sommeliers Madeline Triffon of Redford, Claudia Tyagi of Roseville, and Ron Edwards of Charlevoix.

Event co-chairs are Debbie and Michael Berger of West Bloomfield and Julia and Carl Camden of Bloomfield Hills.

Making a special appearance is wine maker and Detroit native Fred Fisher, of the Fisher Body family and proprietor of Fisher Vineyards in Sonoma County, California, maker of the Coach Insignia label wine.

Ford Motor Co. and Kelly Services are among the event’s largest corporate sponsors.

Tickets are $500 and $1,000 each. A $1,000 ticket includes a private pre-glow wine tasting with one of the wine masters or event chairs and an overnight stay at a downtown hotel.
