Sisters Use Earnings from Voice Over Work to Support Charity

Voice actor Brian Haymond's daughters tread in daddy's footsteps donating money made from voice over jobs to Operation Christmas Child.

London, Canada, December 25, 2008 --(PR.com)-- (VOICES.COM) – Like many voice over professionals, the voice acting gene runs in the Haymond family. Voice actor Brian and his wife Bridget Haymond’s daughters, Olivia (11) and Samantha (8) both do voiceover when they can through auditions on Voices.com exclusively, also gaining work through offline efforts. Olivia just finished doing some voiceover for The Boy Scouts of America and Samantha has been doing a campaign for Bojangle’s Chicken and Biscuits, a job she landed on Voices.com.

Olivia and Samantha often accompany their father in his studio and record as their school schedule allows, getting to work regularly with one of America's finest voice over talents. These unique experiences present Brian with a number of opportunities to share his work with the girls, including work for charitable organizations such as Samaritan's Purse. Haymond has narrated promotional videos for their yearly campaign "Operation Christmas Child", a drive that encourages children to give gifts to children around the world in need of items such as school supplies, winter apparel including mittens, hats, socks, even toothbrushes and toys, neatly packaged in a brightly decorated, festive shoe box to be received at Christmas.

Haymond shared, “Some of the money my girls made from their voice over work was donated to Operation Christmas Child. The instructions ask that those donating goods consider adding $7 per box to help cover processing and so on. Both of my girls took some of the money they made doing voiceover and put $7 in each of the 6 boxes. So, with the help of Voices.com, we are teaching the girls about good work ethic and giving to others in need. Priceless!”

Coming full circle, earlier this year Brian Haymond performed the voice over narration on a Samaritan’s Purse national commercial/PSA about the humanitarian relief needed by all the ravaged people in Sudan called “Sudan / Samaritan’s Purse was Listening”, which won the prestigious 2009 National Religious Broadcasters Media Award for Best Television Commercial of the Year.
