Independence Visitor Center creates a new webpage, “Especially for Teachers,” as the result of a $10,000 grant from the Verizon Foundation. This new section will assist teachers in planning trips to the Historic District by providing detailed pre-trip and post-trip lesson plans, activities and more.

Philadelphia, PA, January 04, 2009 --(PR.com)-- The Independence Visitor Center is pleased to introduce the “Especially for Teachers” section of the Independence Visitor Center website. This new section details lesson plans and activities for teachers to plan their class trips – or for assistance with lessons in the classroom. Teachers can find everything from detailed itineraries to information on where to park, eat and shop.

The “Especially for Teachers” section features seven subject themes that are divided into four categories: History, Economics, Geography and Civics. Lesson titles within these categories range from “Creation of a New Nation” to “Becoming a Good Citizen”.Please visit the “Especially for Teachers” webpage to check out all of the lesson plans and categories.

“Especially for Teachers” was created as a result of a $10,000 grant from the Verizon Foundation.
