National Geographic Award Winning Company Launches New Whitewater Adventure

In 1979, ROW Adventures started rafting Idaho Rivers with the idea of "providing unique experiences for our guests." Now an award winning company, this same idea has helped them deliver an entirely new adventure -- "The Culinary Whitewater Series."

Coeur d'Alene, ID, January 18, 2009 --(PR.com)-- For the second consecutive year, National Geographic Adventure Magazine rated ROW Adventures as one of the "Best Adventure Travel Companies on Earth." With the help of noteworthy organizations like Sustainable Travel International and the Adventure Travel Trade Association, National Geographic used five criteria to generate an overall rating: education, sustainability, quality of service, spirit of adventure and client satisfaction.

In all, 248 adventure travel companies were scored and ROW Adventures ranked second on earth in the "River and Sea" category.

Founder Peter Grubb states "I founded ROW Adventures 30 years ago in order to share my passion for rivers, travel and learning. Our mission of "Sharing Nature - Enriching Lives" remains our focus and it is gratifying to be recognized by National Geographic for our many years of providing high-quality adventures. Even more gratifying is knowing that we have positively impacted the lives of the thousands of people who have traveled with us, many of whom have become new advocates for the preservation of the places we visit. It is very satisfying to know that our business practices have had a positive influence in many ways including economically benefitting rural communities around the world, while also creating bonds and friendships that bridge borders and continents."

National Geographic Adventure's judging category of "spirit of adventure" encompasses a company's innovative nature and ability to deliver unique experiences. Capturing these qualities, and new in 2009, ROW Adventures is opening its "Culinary Whitewater Series". This unique adventure combines rafting with hands-on learning of campfire and Dutch Oven cooking focused on Northwest Regional Fare. Participants will be taught by ROW Adventures' talented guide staff as well as a skilled chef to learn how to prepare gourmet meals in the wilderness. Starting in June and going through September, ROW Adventures has developed four separate Culinary Whitewater trips In Idaho and Oregon on the Grand Ronde River, Salmon River Canyons, Middle Fork of the Salmon, and the Snake River in Hells Canyon.
