G.A.P Adventures Celebrates Darwin’s Birthday with New Galapagos Cruise Options

Toronto, Canada, February 13, 2009 --(PR.com)-- G.A.P Adventures, the world’s leading small group adventure tour operator, announces an expansion of its Galapagos cruises with the release of two new programs: a budget nine-day ‘Galapagos on a Shoestring’ trip and the introduction of the ‘GAP Adventurer VI’, a superior-class catamaran. This addition brings G.A.P Adventures’ number of vessels to six in the Galapagos Islands, and covers the spectrum of travel experiences from budget to superior.

“As the Galapagos Islands are one of the most sought after destinations by adventure travellers, we have broadened our range of trips to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the most famous visitor to this evolutionary paradise,” says G.A.P Adventures CEO Bruce Poon Tip.

The Galapagos on a Shoestring trip will be offered year round and will visit the islands of San Cristóbal, Santa Cruz and Isabela – with optional activities, including volcano hikes, snorkelling trips and wildlife encounters.

The ‘GAP Adventurer VI’ is a 16 berth superior class luxury catamaran. It will sail year round offering travellers the choice of 6, 7 and 10 day tours. Accommodation comprises 8 spacious double occupancy cabins, each with a porthole, lower berths and private bathrooms with hot water. There are special amenities such as a four person hydro-massage Jacuzzi and spacious outside decks for relaxing. As with all G.A.P Adventures boat tours, the onboard crew includes a certified naturalist, ensuring visitors are in good hands both onboard and on land.
