God’s Hand in Obama’s Rise: Inspiring New Book Details Biblical Parallels in President’s Ascent and How Anyone Can Achieve God’s Plan

Freeport, Bahamas, The, February 22, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Many have called Barack Obama’s rise to power “meteoric.” But in a new book, the Methodist minister Dr. J. Emmette Weir calls it something else - miraculous.

His new book, “Obama in Prophecy: Divine Intervention in Action!” (Outskirts Press) uncovers the uncanny parallels between the self-described “skinny kid with a funny name” and the biblical Joseph. In a solid scriptural analysis, Rev. Weir shows that like that of Joseph, Obama’s rise cannot be satisfactorily explained solely in terms of socio-economic and political conditions; instead, any feasible explanation must involve the concept of divine intervention.

How so? Weir demonstrates that Barack Obama is a brilliant, talented, highly charismatic person, who like Joseph, the Hebrew patriarch of ancient Egypt, has used these attributes to the best of his ability, taking full advantage of opportunities made available to him for advancement. Both are outsiders and “bridge” personalities who received support by people of all racial, social, and political affiliations. And both rose to power at times of extreme economic crisis.

But “Obama in Prophecy” is more than a study of biblical parallels. By detailing how God has a master plan for everyone, Rev. Weir encourages readers to discover their purpose in God’s grand scheme. Therefore, readers are empowered to realize their true potential and fulfill the purpose of their existence by living day by day in harmony with the plan of the divine architect.

Mixing scholarly research, personal history and a dash of humor, this engaging and approachable work appeals - like its subjects do - to people of every ethnic and socio-economic bracket and political background.

“Obama in Prophecy: Divine Intervention in Action!” is now available through Ingram, Baker & Taylor, Amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com, and the online bookstore of Outskirts Press, at outskirtspress.com/store.php.
