Arthur Attwell Chosen as South African Young Publishing Entrepreneur of the Year, 2009

Arthur Attwell, MD of forward-thinking publishing house Electric Book Works, has been chosen as the South African candidate for the British Council's 2009 International Young Publishing Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Cape Town, South Africa, April 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Arthur joins nominees from eight other developing countries at the London Book Fair this month, where the overall winner will be announced on 22 April. The IYPE showcases innovation in publishing, with candidates selected based on their existing contribution to the development, and their potential as a leader, of the publishing industry in their country.

The overall winner will be awarded £7,500 to be spent on a collaborative project with the British Council, and a stand at the London Book Fair next year, where South Africa will be the focus country.

As managing director of EBW, Arthur has initiated and overseen a wide range of publishing projects and research, including services for large and small publishers, the publication of two acclaimed children's books, EBW's flagship healthcare series, and the development of Mousehand, EBW's self- and small-scale publishing service.
