Old Traditions, New Treats at Summer Solstice Spectacular from EnjoyBellevue.org
The Bellevue Summer Solstice Spectacular is four days of celebrating the season and it couldn’t be hotter. Old Traditions, New Treats…Fun for All Ages: from free swimming to duck pin bowling, a craft show to art exhibits, festival foods to side-walk savings, Celtic folklore to Martial Arts, live music and dancing to movies in the park. The Solstice runs June 18 – in Bellevue Borough, Pa. http://www.enjoybellevue.org/summer_solstice_spectacular_2009.htm.
The event, organized by enjoybellevue.org and sponsored by Enjoy Bellevue and many area merchants, showcases the unique blend of possibility that Bellevue holds. From the art exhibits at the renowned John A. Herman, Jr. Memorial Museum to the sidewalk artistry of Chalk Artist David E. Deffner. Plus art exhibits and classes by Matthews Art for children and adults. Music will include a dance party on the street and music throughout the weekend from different eras.
Activities will also include a kids bike parade, a pet parade, free swimming and duck pin bowling, a treasure hunt and more. Food and sidewalk sale bargains will be available, too. Free parking is available on Lincoln Avenue and in municipal lots.
“We’re looking for another great event here in Bellevue,” enjoybellevue.org’s Michele Smith stated, “Bellevue is continuing to emerge as a great place to live, visit and enjoy.”
