It’s a War Between the Calovacanti and the Circulary in New Work of Fiction The Circulary

Banner Elk, NC, June 23, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Outskirts Press author J.C. Thompson has released an exciting new novel that delves into the violent subcultures of a seemingly quiet town in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. The Circulary is the story of John Calovacanti Hanna, whom everyone calls Calo—a young man from a decent family who finds himself drawn into a criminal lifestyle. This leads to his joining a group called the Circulary, and eventually Calo finds himself at odds with this powerful and deadly group. His only choice? To form his own band of regulators: the Calovacanti.

It begins harmlessly enough. In college, when Calo joins a group called the Circulary, he has no idea that it is headed by a young man with dangerous connections to the New Jersey mob. People are dying, and the violence is escalating. Despite the violence, Calo is caught up in the money and the power the group provides him.

Eventually, Calo’s conscience kicks in, and he finds himself at odds with the members of the Circulary—a deadly dilemma. He struggles with his moral impasse and worries that he might not be able to redeem himself to God. But before he can make his peace with his Maker, he must find a way to simply survive. He forms his own group, the Calovacanti, in the hopes of freeing himself and his friends from the wreckage and responsibility they so greedily brought upon themselves. In the process, they must expose the secret society of the Circulary. And so the war begins.

“Father, do you know what respect, fear, power, and authority are to someone who has all of that?”
“A very dangerous tool,” the priest replied. “If someone has all of what you say, they must use it carefully.”
“Yes, Father, but it is nothing without love. You must either have love for others, or others must love you, as God loves us and we, some of us, love God. If there is no love, all that I mentioned will kill you.”

J.C. Thompson has crafted an exciting and unusual take on the secret societies that gain their power through violence, intimidation, and money. The Circulary is a work of suspense and intrigue that will keep the reader enthralled until the very last page.
