Hamburg, Germany, July 13, 2009 --(PR.com
)-- Two weeks ago the global communication industry’s eyes were directed towards the Côte d’Azur, where this industry’s most important event, Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival, took place for the 56th time. Thousands of professionals from all over the world traveled to Cannes, attracted by a multitude of workshops and seminars, and by keynote speakers such as Sir Martin Sorrell, Bob Greenberg, Kofi Annan, and Bob Geldof. Next to the conference, 214 jury members chose the best from 22,000 creative pieces, which were awarded the prestigious Lions, the Oscar of the advertising world.
For the first time, festival organizer Cannes Lions contracted Hamburg-based shuttle provider BDRIVEN for the transportation of their VIP guests, such as speakers, sponsors, and jury members. Behind the scenes of the glamorous event, a team of 18, consisting of experienced drivers, hostesses, a shuttle coordinator and a project manager, took care of all transfers and secured everyone was warmly welcomed and at his place on time.
With a fleet of 14 uniform Mercedes Vianos, S- and E-Classes, BDRIVEN was responsible for all airport transfers between Nice and Cannes, for shuttles between guests’ hotels and festival venue and for transfers to evening locations, for example in Monte Carlo or Vence. The Hamburgers also handled the dedicated shuttle service for the very VIP’s, who had their personal driver and car allocated at all times.
“At Cannes Lions we host some of the world's leading communications and advertising executives, as well as global names such as Bob Geldof, Kofi Annan, Spike Lee and many others. The professional transportation of VIP guests is a crucial factor for Cannes Lions’ success,” said Philip Thomas, CEO of Cannes Lions. “This was the first year we have worked with BDRIVEN, and they delivered in every way -- professional, prompt, courteous and very hard-working.”
“On first glance it may sound strange to contract a German company with transfers in South France,” told Tim Sohnemann, Managing Partner BDRIVEN. “However, our company and the drivers we work with have been in this area very often, for example during the F1 Grand Prix of Monaco. We are accustomed to the driving conditions and know the Côte d’Azur very well.”
He continued: “BDRIVEN operates worldwide, because that’s what most of our clients do. They want to rely on the same service quality wherever they welcome their guests. In Europe we count on our reliable pool of foremost German drivers who are in the business for years, and also overseas we put our own project management in charge. Even though this means we must sometimes travel a bit further, this way we can guarantee the same quality standard everywhere in the world.”
In Cannes this philosophy has worked out.
