Adairsville, GA, July 17, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Historic Barnsley Gardens Resort in north Georgia celebrates 10 years as a luxury resort in 2009. Though portions of the property date back more than 150 years and have survived Civil War, fires and natural disasters, the resort component opened in summer of 1999. Since opening, its unique English countryside design and sprawling grounds filled with blooming gardens have earned the resort numerous accolades from national publications such as Travel + Leisure and Condé Nast Traveler. To commemorate this milestone anniversary, Barnsley Gardens Resort is now offering visitors a variety of special activities and deals this summer to experience this one-of-a-kind property.

During June and July, daily visitors are invited to explore Barnsley Gardens Resort’s stunning gardens with a free tour. The tours, which normally cost $10, are offered on Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m. and lead guests through more than 20 gardens scattered throughout the property. The tour leads visitors through the Heirloom Rose Gardens featuring 37 different varieties of stunning roses; the breathtaking garden maze that surrounds the beautiful stone fountain located in front of The Ruins; the Cherry Canopy filled with Daffodils, Wood Hyacinths and Columbines; and a variety of other blooming areas throughout the property.

The summer season also offers overnight guests an incredible deal. They can take advantage of the Two- for-One Weekday Special, where any room or suite reserved at the standard rate will get the second night for free Monday through Thursday until July 31. All cottages, which are laid out in the style of a European village, have porches with rocking chairs or swings, and feature king or queen sized beds, lovely claw-footed bathtubs, and a plethora of windows that light up the room and offer gorgeous views of the property.

New to Barnsley Gardens Resort this year is the Firefly Nights series, which will take place on Saturday, June 27th and Saturday, July 25th. This event includes dancing under the stars, live romantic music, and cocktails in The Ruins. A special Firefly Cocktail featuring Absolute Pear Vodka, Absolute Raspberry Vodka, sweet and sour mix, and a splash of Sprite and orange juice is the perfect concoction for this enchanting event.
