Starpoint Enterprises to Represent Convergence Media Group Advertising Sales

Burlington, VT, August 30, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Starpoint Enterprises of South Burlington, Vermont will be the exclusive advertising service for all local and regional clients placing commercials on 107.1 WNMR and WGMU Channel 39 and other Convergence Media Group (CMG) Radio and Television stations. Starpoint is locally owned and managed by Kenan Guarino, longtime Vermont broadcast advertising veteran and former owner of Your Local Directory, Vermont and New Hampshire’s largest independent yellow page directory company.

CMG, a multi-media broadcaster, is currently launching its newest radio station, 107.1 WNMR which will host the return of Burlington’s Favorite Sons – Corm & the Coach beginning September 2009. The FM Talk station will serve the Champlain Valley and North Country listeners with studios located in Chittenden County and Plattsburgh, NY, carrying a variety of both locally produced programs and nationally syndicated talk shows.

CMG is also in the process of launching TV stations WGMU and WNMN featuring the Retro TV Network (RTV) with hit shows like Quincy, Emergency, Rockford Files, It Takes A Thief, and The Incredible Hulk. Regionally produced programming will begin almost immediately and increase as more programs are developed. Corm & the Coach are scheduled to begin broadcasting live on WGMU Channel 39 beginning mid-Fall 2009. Both stations will be available on regional cable networks.

Kenan Guarino sold Your Local Directory in 2008, after establishing it as the leading telephone directory business throughout New Hampshire and Vermont. Over 500,000 copies were distributed annually with thousands of yellow pages customers buying annual advertising from his Yellow Pages Company. Previous to his directory business, Guarino spent twenty years in radio sales and broadcast management throughout Vermont and New Hampshire, with a lengthy stint in sales management at 95 Triple X included in that time.

“The opportunity to represent the only combined radio and television media group in this area, was very attractive to me”, Guarino stated. “We’ll also be adding print media to this group, giving our advertisers a very appealing solution to their marketing needs. We’re putting together a very diverse consulting team that will offer our clients an innovative and dynamic relationship with our group.”

The launch of 107.1 WNMR in the Burlington/Plattsburgh listening area is in response to the growing need for relevant local programming and while the station will be carrying some nationally syndicated shows, it will also be working with partners in the community to create informative and entertaining programs that touch upon local entertainment, food, news and politics. The programming direction and use of talented broadcasting veterans will deliver a strong broadcasting performance.

As a newly established multi-media company providing for the creation, integration and distribution of broadcast content for TV, radio and internet, Convergence Media Group is locally owned and operated. CMG has television and radio licenses reaching audiences throughout the state of Vermont, west from Watertown, NY, east to Central New Hampshire and south into Massachusetts.
