Postcode Anywhere Shortlisted for National Computing Award

“IT firm continues winning form with fourth awards ceremony in 12 months.”

Worcester, United Kingdom, September 12, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Worcester-based IT firm Postcode Anywhere has reached the finals of the UK IT Industry Awards – its fourth awards nomination this year.

The company will need to impress a panel of expert judges next month if it wants to claim the trophy for “Best Small IT Supplier of the Year.”

The winners will be announced at a lavish awards ceremony on 12 November at Battersea Park in London.

The new awards programme joins together the longstanding Computing Awards for Excellence with the British Computer Society (BCS) IT Industry Awards. Postcode Anywhere has previously won “Most IT-Enabled Small Business” at the 2005 Computing awards.

Managing director Guy Mucklow said: “It’s a great honour to be shortlisted for such a prestigious accolade.

“The selection process is very competitive with lots of high-quality entries in the category so we are very proud to be among the top 10 finalists.

“The amalgamation of BCS and Computing for these all-new awards will set the benchmark for excellence within IT in the future.”

Head of Marketing Rob Willis added: “With the recent launch of our new smart route planner, Route Optimiser, it has been a busy year for us so far. Winning this award would be a wonderful way to be recognised for all our hard work this year.”

Finalists have been invited to an interview in front of a panel of judges on 2 October at the Madejski Stadium in Reading. Following interviews, judges will select two medallists and a winner in each category, announced on the evening of the awards ceremony.

David Clarke, BCS chief executive said: “I’m particularly pleased to see so many entries in these difficult economic conditions; it reinforces the importance of IT in delivering business and social benefit. Our Awards are central to our drive to create the IT profession and the finalists can be proud of their achievements. “

Robin Booth, Publishing Director of Computing said: “The Awards are a showcase for the very best in the UK IT industry and those who have been announced as finalists can be very proud of their outstanding achievement. The next stage of judging is going to be very difficult. The variety of entrants emphasises not only the value of IT today, but also the way which it touches so many areas of life.”
