Bayard, Inc. Assumes CHURCH Magazine Subscription Liability - Move Positions Today's Parish Minister as Category Leader

New London, CT, September 25, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Today's Parish Minister magazine, published by the Bayard Magazine Group, has assumed subscription liability for CHURCH magazine in a non-cash transaction with the National Pastoral Life Center (NPLC) based in New York City. The NPLC board of directors made the difficult decision to cease publication of CHURCH due to financial concerns. The NPLC chose Today's Parish Minister to fulfill the balance of their subscriptions because the editorial mission of the two magazines supporting parish leaders is similar.

"We look forward to helping CHURCH readers meet their pastoral goals through articles and information in Today's Parish Minister," said Bret Thomas, Bayard's president and CEO. "Although the two magazines are different, I am confident that CHURCH readers will find much value in our publication. It is 100% focused on providing workable solutions to today's parish challenges."

The addition of the CHURCH circulation now positions Today's Parish Minister as the category leader serving the general needs of the parish market.
