In Ahuntsic-Cartierville Party Candidates Follow Independent Giovanna Giancaspro’s Lead

Zaki Ghavitian, Vision Montreal mayoral candidate in Ahunstic-Cartiersville, has endorsed a major element of Giovanna Giancaspro’s platform in his campaign pamphlet. For years, Ms Giancaspro has been fighting to rid Montreal of excessive parking meters rates. Now one of Vision’s highest profile candidates has included a promise to shut down meters on Sundays and in the evening during the week in his campaign materials.

Montreal, Canada, October 16, 2009 --(PR.com)-- “I am absolutely flattered that Vision Montreal agrees that my plan has merit.” Said Giancaspro. “I am hoping that candidates in all boroughs will come out and publically endorse this necessary measure.”

Giancaspro added that she is inviting all mayoral candidates to an informal roundtable meeting to discuss Montreal’s future in the context of the current election campaign. The meeting would be closed to the press and would allow candidates to express their concerns in a relaxed and amiable ambiance. “We live in a democracy, and it is wrong to see the other as the enemy. We are all working in the best interest of Montreal at a critical moment in our history. There are things we agree on and things we do not agree on, why not have constructive dialogues among ourselves instead of speaking through negative attack ads that further dampen voter interest in the November 1st election.”
