Born in Greenville, ms in 1937,moved with parents to New Brunswick, N.J.in 1948. Graduated from New Brunswick high school in 1956.Joined U.S.Mrines in 1958,after recieving Honorable Dischare in 1961, moved to Saginaw, Mi in 1965.Began workink for General Motors that same year. Joined the National of Islam in 1972. Became Sunni Muslim in 1975. Married the former Debara Hinton, in 1979, they have three daughters. Retired from G.M. IN 1972.
