Author’s New Book Aims to Preserve the Magic of Childhood

Monroe, MI, November 02, 2009 --(PR.com)-- They say kids grow up way too fast. But what if all the good things of childhood—the innocence, unconditional love and purity of heart—could remain, long into adulthood?

That’s the idea at the core of a remarkable new book that aims to preserve and recapture childlike wonder and truth. Just released by Outskirts Press, Sweet Breath of Knowing: The Way, the Truth, and the Light, examines how people are conditioned by society to cast off childlike qualities, often to the detriment of mankind.

Written by author Theresa May Evie, Sweet Breath of Knowing takes the form of a profoundly intuitive poetic narrative exploring the various influences that act upon people starting at birth. Described here is a complete worldview, in which we are all born as clean slates, or “children of the light.” Our one mission—to turn that light into love—often takes a detour, thanks to the power and demands of our families, society, schools, government and other institutions.

Addressing an innocent babe, Evie explains the forces that await in hypnotic, powerful free verse. What emerges is a warning—that “nothing is what it appears to be,” as Evie writes. Each of these institutions makes an integral and intrusive impact on one’s psyche, dramatically altering its intended course, Evie explains. The trick is to grasp toward love, remaining a child of the light.

Sweet Breath of Knowing packs a message of love and hope that is both captivating and thought-provoking, inspiring every reader to recognize his or her own unique truths.

Sweet Breath of Knowing: The Way, the Truth, and the Light is now available through Ingram, Baker & Taylor, Amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com, and the online bookstore of Outskirts Press, at outskirtspress.com/store.php.
