)-- Akesios has been selected by European Directories to provide the Akesios Platform to process and fulfill the Skype business funded click-to-call product across its operating companies.
Skype recently announced a new business funded click-to-call product and a strategic partnership with European Directories that will turn online search for businesses into calls for businesses.
The Akesios Platform is a piece of middleware which accelerates the speed to market of 3rd party products, such as Skype. It significantly reduces the complexity, time and cost of the IT aspects of the integration. It holds all the business rules for each product sold in each market and performs all the vital validations required by Skype and the publisher for each order.
The Akesios Performance Manager provides a vast array of reports including management reports, customer reports, performance/campaign management reports and sales reports required for upsell. When utilised alongside other 3rd party products, the reports aggregate performance data across all products on a customer level, allowing publishers to effectively sell a bundle of 3rd party products, measure effectiveness of each media and provide a single report to customers for all the products in their portfolio.
“The Akesios Platform and the Akesios implementation team were an important part in bringing our new business funded click-to-call product to market quickly and with minimal impact to our existing operations.” said Simon Greenman, Managing Director of Online for European Directories. “It also gives us the flexibility we need to scale and adapt our offering as we move forward.”
“IT departments are very rarely able to deliver quick bespoke solutions for a product launch." said Ben Barney, Co-Founder and Director of Akesios. “Lead generation from multiple vendors and media sources is an important strategic move for publishers like Yellow Pages businesses. Their continued success relies on being able to seize revenue opportunities from new products sooner whilst reducing their reliance on their IT resources. We believe the Akesios Platform to be a strategic asset for traditional publishers to compete effectively now and in the future.”
Akesios have developed a platform and reporting interface to make implementing online products for directory companies fast and straightforward. This flexible system caters for any products from websites and video to search and social media. Technical integration is handled within the system along with configurable exception handling, allowing new products to be introduced with minimum pressure on directory IT staff. Uniquely, the system provides aggregated reporting across the products both internally for product intelligence and directly to customers via email in a unified format tailored to the directory branding.
Akesios is also a local search consultancy assisting directory companies with their online strategy and implementation. Directory and media businesses are under threat from declining revenues and increasing competition from non-‘traditional’ areas. With a few exceptions, usage – and therefore revenue – continues to decline in printed products where the majority of their revenues reside, and from which they achieve such high margins. Increasing competition from pure-play local search services and search engines such as Google threatens their usage unless they continue to invest in products outside their printed portfolio.
Akesios is expert in advising directory companies on local search, whether enhancing their IYP offering, or entering new markets such as search. We have successfully launched search businesses for directory companies across Europe, making Akesios the de facto consultancy in this niche area. Akesios can provide the strategy, methodology and systems to sell all new media products through existing sales forces and via supplementary channels.
