Capstone Names Lori Benton as New General Manager/Publisher of Fiction Imprints

Minneapolis, MN, January 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Capstone, the leading publisher of children’s books in the U.S. education market, has named Lori Benton General Manager/Publisher of its fiction imprints, which include Stone Arch Books and Picture Window Books. Benton brings more than 30 years of experience in children’s book publishing and management to her new role, and will lead the strategic development and growth of the fiction product line.

Previously, Benton was Vice President and Publisher of the Children’s Book Division at Harcourt Trade Publishers. Benton also worked as Director of Marketing/Associate Publisher for Henry Holt Books for Young Readers, and spent 10 years in marketing management at William Morrow & Company in the children’s division.

“It’s an exciting time at Capstone and I look forward to driving the development of the fiction imprints, integrating digital, and expanding our presence in the trade market. I’m delighted to be here,” said Benton.

Benton currently serves as Board Chair of the Every Child a Reader Literacy Foundation, and is a former chair of the Children’s Book Council.

Benton will be based out of New York and Minneapolis, and will report to Tom Ahern, CEO of Capstone. She began her new position Jan. 11.
