New Travel Consultants at Escaped to Peru in Cusco

Cusco, Peru, January 16, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The travel industry had a difficult year in 2009, along with many other sectors of the world economy of course, but predictions for 2010 suggest a much rosier picture. The tour company Escaped to Peru, based in Cusco close to Machu Picchu, is predicting a greatly improved number of clients this coming year and has increased its team by adding two more travel consultants. Zara Woolley and Kareema Bahamou join the company from Australia and the USA respectively and have a wealth of knowledge on Peru in particular and Latin America in general.

“We are certain that more and more people will be traveling to Peru and its neighbors over the course of 2010 and are therefore planning for this extra traffic. Travel to Latin America, and particularly South America, is generally very safe and good value for money” explains Steve Mellor, General Manager of the company.

Even through the recent economic crisis Machu Picchu has remained a major South American attraction particularly since it was recently voted a “New Wonder of the World”. This along with the many other archeological sites, ancient cultures, Andean scenery and the wildlife of the Amazon has helped Peru maintain its position as one of South America´s most visited countries. According to figures from the Peruvian Institute of Culture an average of over 1800 people a day visited this beautiful ancient Inca site during 2009. The projection for 2010 is that more than 2000 people a day will marvel at the spectacle, a ten percent increase.
