Gainesville, FL, January 16, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Building Envelope Science Institute (BESI) has scheduled its third training seminar for Defective Drywall Inspection and Remediation certification to be held in Tampa, Florida. The decision to hold the training seminar in Tampa is the result of requests by those seeking certification, primarily in the remediation of defective drywall.

The Building Envelope Science Institute, is presenting the certification for defective drywall in Tampa, Florida on February 4th and 5th at the Hilton Garden Inn Tampa Ybor Historic District. For list of speakers visit the institute’s website.

“The Building Envelope Science institute has developed a cost effective protocol that can certify remediation of defective Chinese drywall,” says Charlie Jones, member of the board of directors for the institute. The institute, with the help of a workgroup called Defective Drywall in America (DDIA), has developed a cost effective protocol that helps homeowners, insurance companies, investors, financial institutes, and builders. “The institute and its members have an ongoing commitment to helping those who have been devastated by this crisis,” said Jones.

The institute understands that standardization of inspection and remediation protocols are essential for a viable solution to the current crisis. The institute together with members of the DDIA workgroup completed the systems for the protocols in October 2009 that allows homes to be certified clean and to be provided with a proposed home warranty from National Construction Warranty Corporation.
