Leesburg Teen Wins $1000 Scholarship and Title of Miss Orlando’s Outstanding Teen in the Miss Orlando Scholarship Pageant

Orlando, FL, January 19, 2010 --(PR.com)-- A Leesburg teen has claimed the title of Miss Orlando’s Outstanding Teen in a pageant held Saturday night January 9th at Cypress Creek High School. MaryKatherine Fechtel, a 14-year-old, will represent the city at Miss Florida’s Outstanding Teen Pageant in Dade City, FL this April 22-24. Her scholarship winnings total $1150 sponsored by the Miss Orlando Scholarship Pageant Board and the Turney Family. Fechtel also won the Lifestyle & Fitness award, the Talent award and the Interview award. MaryKatherine has studied dance at Shooting Stars Dance Studio in Clermont along side Jakob Karr of “So You Think You Can Dance” fame.

Vice President, Juan Cantu, says "MaryKatherine is truly an outstanding teen. Her facility for dance is world class. Being a part of this program will surely set her on her way to great things while being a role model for other teens. I'm excited to see how she grows this coming year as well as how she does at the state level competition in April."
