1721 Media Helps Seasoned Literary Agent Go Digital

Les Stobbe Enjoys New Online Home

Tryon, NC, January 22, 2010 --(PR.com)-- With more than 3 million jobs lost in 2009, unemployment is at a 26 year high. The media industry, particularly book publishing, has felt the brunt of what some are calling The Great Recession. Many publishing houses have closed their doors. One man, Les Stobbe of Leslie H. Stobbe Literary Agency, is still going strong offline at writer's conferences and now online with a new Web site (http://stobbeliterary.com).

Mr. Stobbe, who started as a book buyer in 1955, has seen much during his 54-year career with books. He helped birth the Ryrie Study Bible, helped Dr. Bill Bright pen Witnessing Without Fear, and helped a host of writers get started in Christian publishing. Ann Tatlock, Mary Connely, Debbie Alsdorf, Mick Dellossa, and Dr. Donald Hall are among a long list of writers who owe their initial successes to Les Stobbe. The writer of 14 books and hundreds of articles, Stobbe is an agent who seeks “fresh voices in both adult fiction and non-fiction who above all know how to tell a story with truth embedded in it.”

Authors appreciate such dedication from their agents. Lisa Hall, author of Taking Charge of Your Own Health: Navigating Your Way Through Diagnosis, Treatment, Insurance, met Stobbe at Mount Hermon Christian Writer's Conference. She says, “Les works very hard for his clients and he also offers a great deal of insight on everything from content to book promotion.” Another of Stobbe's clients, Michele Howe, author of Burdens Do a Body Good, also attests to her agent's dedication. “Les has vision,” she shares, “And he imparts it to me on a regular basis.”

Those who visit the new Web site, built by 1721 Media, will readily experience Stobbe's wealth of knowledge. The site offers background on Les Stobbe's rich and extensive career in Christian publishing. Visitors will also find out about new book releases, how to choose an agent, and how to submit a manuscript.

Having spent much of his career without a Web site, Stobbe hopes his site will “share specialized insights, with much of the material presented at writers’ conferences over the past 45 years. And if [the site] helps writers with a God-given message ... that’s a bonus.”
