Leonia, NJ, February 14, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The American Legion post in Leonia, was the first post chartered in New Jersey and the fifth in the Nation. Since 1919, the Post has welcomed membership from veterans of all branches of the United States Armed Services. Along with championing veterans' causes, Post # 1 is dedicated to community outreach. Every year the Post hosts events like the Memorial Day parade and hot dog lunch. Since last year, the Post has been adding more events to involve the community such as Craft Fairs, Classic Car Shows and most recently, Casino Nights.

With the wildfire popularity of Texas Hold'em Poker, Legionnaires such as Tony Kowidge, Jr. Vice Commander, felt that, "Casino Nights, featuring Hold'em tournaments and Black Jack are a fun way for Post 1 to invite the community in to see what we're all about, and at the same time, raise some funds for the scholarships we provide to local students and the Veterans' Charities we support."

So, American Legion Post #1 in Leonia is excited to announce their Second Charity Casino Night with Texas Hold'em Tournament and this time a Black Jack Tournament too.

The Casino Night opens at 6pm, on Saturday, February 27th, with free beverages all night. Free food will also be available. The perfect way to beat the winter dulldrums.

Players can register online at www.alpost1.org (click on Casino Night). The buy-in is $50 when players pre-register. Prizes amounts will be paid out according to number of players and amount of rebuys. The top three players in the Hold'em Tournament will take home Amex or Visa gift cards.
