Los Angeles, CA, February 25, 2010 --( David-Michael Madigan, of David-Michael Design Inc. Makes the Design Books Again

Award Winning International Interior Designer, David-Michael Madigan is once again featured in a newly released Interior Design book, “Interior Design In Practice – Case Studies of Successful Business Models” by Terri L. Maurer and co-author Katie Weeks.

“Interior Design In Practice – Case Studies of Successful Business Models” provides the reader with insight into the ever changing business world of interior design. In Chapter 6: “Planning For The Future” the authors sought out David-Michael Madigan for their interview to discuss how to be successful in transition. The section titled “Successful Succession” details how David-Michael’s companies have evolved throughout the years in various economies.

As an Interior Designer for over 25 years, David-Michael has seen and survived recessions before. In fact, it is as a result of the 1990’s recession that David-Michael ventured into entrepreneurship. David-Michael was a senior designer for Lusk Design in Irvine, California during a time of transition in the economy during the 1990’s. It was then that John Lusk decided to retire and Nancy Lusk, keen to David-Michael’s talent, offered Lusk Design’s client base to David-Michael and another senior designer, Donna Gott.

David-Michael is not only a master in his design elements but he is skillful in finding ways to maintain the integrity of his design while keeping the client’s budget intact. He knew that clients, whether a commercial developer or a high – end luxury residence, were wanting the most elegant and edgy interiors but needed to be mindful of the expense.

As the economy improved throughout the 1990’s into the early 2000’s David-Michael’s company flourished. In early 2004 he was asked to develop a signature flooring line for Smith –Laredo, San Diego, California. His talent also caught the attention of a producer at KTLA, Los Angeles, California where he became a regular guest designer for many years. His credits also include guest events for MTV, and he is regular contributing columnist for Orange County Register and wrote for the former Orange County Home.

David-Michael’s designs were recognized by overseas developers who sought his classic, yet esoteric styling for new communities. As each of David-Michael designed communities sold out at record a pace additional builders/developers sought David-Michael Design to create model homes, clubhouses and villas across China. As a result David-Michael and his team at David-Michael Design Inc. have now completed dozens new developments throughout China, and Europe and are still busy in China.

“The best form of advertisement is by someone seeing your work and wanting to hire you. It costs nothing and they are already familiar with your work so there is almost no “sell” work involved.”
