Yats Leisure Announces Packages for Holy Week Getaway in Clark Philippines
Rooms are difficult to book during Holy Week in the Philippines. With recession still taking its toll on pockets, Clark Freeport becomes an attractive alternative to travelling abroad. Clearwater Resort is a popular choice for this year's Holy Week Getaway.
shanghai, China, March 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Clearwater Resort and Country Club is a semi-private resort that caters also to tourists on special occasions like Holy Week (and Christmas). This 13-hectare property is located in the central business district of bustling Clark Freeport Zone just 60 minutes by car from Manila along the newly refurbished North Expressway.
There is a white-sand beach, man-made, with an adjoining swimming lagoon, overlooking the large 3ha lake. Across the lake is a wooded area called Frolic Garden where we found a croquet garden, swings and hammocks and a couple of horse-shoe throwing grounds.
From there one can see the amphi-theatre that again overlooks the lake with the stage actually setting over water. This venue is quite suitable for small concerts, plays and other entertainment for a small capacity of about 150.
Evidently, many weddings took place in Yats Clearwater Resort and it is not difficult to see why. This place smacks of romance. It is probably even better for a honeymoon. There is this row of 8 log cabins sitting right by the edge of the lake with a verandah over water. It was really something else to wake up and walk out to a view of an idyllic lake at dawn. Occasionally, special arrangements can be made for breakfast to be served on the veranda. That would be quite magical.
It is a fairly large place so guests need to be ready for a bit of walking, although golf carts can be rented to get around. To some, that defeats the purpose of spending time in a park. But one could rent bikes to paddle around and that would be a nice experience. Can't really do that in cosmopolitan Manila. Can't even walk the streets much in that confused city let alone paddle.
Rooms are basic, furniture a little sparse compared to resort hotels. One could characterize the lodgings to be in the class of bed-and-breakfast and not resort-class.
There is a cafe which serves good breakfast and basic lunch and dinner. Foodies can opt to drive over to Mimosa about 3 minutes away just a bit too far to walk, to have dinner at the fine-dining Yats Restaurant and Wine Bar www.YatsRestaurant.com. The 2700-line wine list is quite interesting. Prices are surprisingly affordable.
