)-- A growing appreciation of vintage treasures, such as typewriters and library card catalogs, has encouraged Poetic Home to develop a classifieds section connecting buyers and sellers. The soon-to-be launched classifieds section will feature mid-century modern furniture, repurposed furniture, vintage typewriters, and even library card catalogues for sale.
“While there are plenty of outlets for antique collectors, the growing number of vintage aficionados finds it more difficult to find the retro pieces they covet. For example, it took me over two years and an abundance of hunting to find my library card catalogs,” explains Grace Light, the editor of Poetic Home.
There has been a nostalgia movement, wherein today’s younger generations are finding a new interest in vintage pieces that their parents or grandparents may have used. From rotary phones to manual typewriters, these are all vintage pieces that are gaining steam as collectibles, even if they are not considered proper “antiques.”
In discussing the inspiration for creating the classifieds section, Grace expounds, “I receive many inquiries from individuals interested in specific mid-century modern pieces, typewriters, record players, and library card catalogs for sale. I wanted to connect these interested buyers with relevant sellers of vintage treasures that are not easy to find, and subsequently, the idea for Poetic Home’s classified section was born.”
The vintage classifieds section is currently being designed, and Poetic Home certainly welcomes suggestions as to the types of treasures that should be included in the categories.
