Annual Trout Release Occurs Around North Georgia Rental Cabins

Fourth annual release of 1,200 brown and rainbow trout by mountain rental cabin owners occurs in Fightingtown Creek.

Blue Ridge, GA, March 26, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Fightingtown Creek near Blue Ridge, Georgia is home to the north Georgia rental cabin company Rainbow Cabins (http://www.rainbowcabins.com/) and is a popular trout fishing spot, attracting hundreds of visitors each year. To boost trout populations ahead of the summer tourist season and to provide plenty of recreational opportunities for visitors, cabin owners along Fightingtown Creek recently released 1,200 brown and rainbow trout.

Each year for the last four, owners of mountain rental cabins along Fightingtown Creek have joined together to release trout into their collective stretch of the creek. Fish released into creek were bred at the Chattahoochee National Fish Hatchery near Blue Ridge. The fish hatchery assists ongoing efforts by private groups, the United States Fish and Wildlife Service and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources to replenish fish stocks and provide recreational opportunities for the public.

“One of the main reasons we specialize in riverfront rental cabins is because trout fishing is so popular in north Georgia. Individuals and families alike are looking for rental cabins that offer a variety of water activities such as fishing, river-tubing, kayaking and swimming. Fightingtown Creek offers all of these and some of the best nature scenery in all of north Georgia.” comments Wes Reuning, president of Rainbow Cabins, LLC.

Each year, trout fishermen flock to the streams and waterways of the north Georgia Mountains to catch this popular fish. Cabins for rent from Rainbow Cabins sit along on one of the more popular trout fishing streams, Fightingtown Creek, which flows into the Toccoa River. Stocking this creek and other waterways in the north Georgia Mountains ensures trout populations will remain plentiful enough for everyone to enjoy this popular sport.

“Our riverfront cabins sit along some of the best trout fishing spots around,” says Reuning. “Ask any local resident about where you should go for good trout fishing and they will probably tell you to check out Fightingtown Creek.”
