New Train Puzzle Book App from MobiStories Steams Into the iTunes App Store

MobiStories, digital books, ebooks and book apps for kids today released Train Puzzle Book for iPhone and computer. This interactive and engaging digital board book includes narration, sound effects and multiple puzzles on every page.

Doylestown, PA, April 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Still Motion Media, creator of MobiStories, digital books for kids, has just released another book app in its Transportation series, “Train Puzzle Book,” by Chris L. Demarest. The story recounts in simple words the views of a steam train as it passes through the countryside. Rich sound effects accompany the story. Train is an interactive book that can simply be played in ‘read to me’ mode, or users can choose to swipe the pages back and forth themselves.

A child narrates every page in either English or Spanish. The text is also prepared in these two languages. With a proprietary language selector, the user can mix and match to learn a few words of a new language.

The interactivity and reading experience is further enhanced by shaking or clicking on the picture so the illustration breaks into a puzzle with a selection of 6, 12, 25 or 36 pieces. The user can choose to utilize either the Shape Hint or Picture Hint functions, or both. As a child drags a piece back into its correct place, a virtual audience will cheer or encourage him or her to try again. Children can time one another to see who can finish each level fastest. The puzzles are a great way for kids and adults to interact with the iPhone, iPad and computer enhancing both spatial and motor skills.

MobiStories are developed from existing published books. Every MobiStory is individually transformed into the digital space with the expertise of Hollywood professionals. “Our intention is to revitalize the word ‘reading’ by making the form a more enjoyable pastime for the 21st century kid, and by doing so encourage him or her to spend more time with books at an early age,” commented Bob Budlow, one of the founders and president of Still Motion Media. “To do this, we must look at each individual book to best determine what enhancements should be added to further immerse a child in the experience,” he continued. “In this book, picture and shape hints were added in the hopes that even the youngest set will be able to figure out where each piece goes.”

The company already has many apps available for the iPhone with many more in production such as the soon to be released, The Marvelous Toy, by Grammy-winning artist Tom Paxton. Train will follow shortly onto the iPad in a higher resolution version and with further enhancements to make use of the additional size and format. The company’s first iPad release was from the sister Seasons series, “Spring.” That MobiStory was available for the iPad launch.
