Opal Book Publishing is Proud to Announce Its Newest 2010 Lesbian Novelist by Way of Manchester, CT

Tanisha McMillan, the newest 2010 Lesbian Novelist of Opal Book Publishing, makes debut of her first novel “Lesbian Bullshyt.”

Manchester, CT, April 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Tanisha McMillan, a 31 year old mother of two, and the oldest sibling of three, started her writing endeavor at the tender age of twelve. Writing was her way of healing, so it’s what she has done whenever there was something going on in her life. Giving her unloaded feelings a place to reside, whether it was joy or pain, she continuously kept a journal of her life’s journey. Her oldest daughter’s pestering is the reason why she finally sat down at her computer and began her publishing journey and has continued to write her novel into completion.

Her debut novel “Lesbian Bullshyt”, due to release April 30, 2010, is a very exciting lesbian love story because it’s real. It will make you laugh and cry and maybe even think to yourself that you know people who are like the characters in the book. A young woman, who’d just had a baby, recently married, and then discovers a feeling that shakes up her life as she knows it. It’s self discovery, acceptance, keeping your family together and the journey into a relationship with a woman, followed by all the ups and downs. Perhaps it will help readers heal, overcome struggles with their sexual identity, especially later in life, after a marriage and kids.

She states “Being black, a woman, and a lesbian can make you feel like you have three strikes against you from the time you wake up in the morning. Lesbian Bullshyt is my attempt to navigate through those struggles”.

Tanisha McMillan graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Central CT State University in 2006 in Social and Behavioral Science and Health in Diverse Populations. She has also had two short stories published on a Black lesbian erotica website, KUMA2.net. She currently works for a local waste management company while continuing to pursue her writing career as an author and one day hopes to be able to see herself at the top of the NY Times Bestseller’s List.
