Some states require no license while some states require a home state business license in good standing, along with a registered agent contact and annual reporting. Other states have more specific and detailed requirements such as: finger-printing members of management, felony background checks of employees, CPA-reviewed personal and company financials, and surety bonds. There are several states that now require the agency manager to also attend and pass an In-State Collection Law Test. These exams are only given on specific times of the year.
