Carmel Pharma/PhaSeal® Exhibiting at Booth #1923 at ONS Congress

Booth Attractions Include Product Demonstrations, “Passport to Care” and More.

Columbus, OH, May 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Carmel Pharma, manufacturer of the PhaSeal System for the safe handling of hazardous drugs, will be exhibiting at Booth #1923 at the 35th Annual ONS Congress. Booth activities will include opportunities for attendees to learn how PhaSeal can easily work with their existing protocol to provide clinically proven protection from hazardous drug exposure – plus, Carmel Pharma will be participating in the ONS Congress “Passport to Care” activity, which invites attendees to collect stamps from select exhibitors for their chance to win a variety of raffle prizes.

While at the Carmel Pharma booth, attendees will also have the chance to see the official “Safe Handling Dance” video, which shows how the team of professionals at the Presbyterian Cancer Center in Charlotte, NC, approached implementation of a multi-disciplinary safe handling awareness program with a fun, "can-do" attitude. To encourage widespread awareness of this important topic, Carmel Pharma will make a charitable donation to further safe handling education if the video reaches 100,000 views by July 4, 2010. To view the video now, please visit www.step2safety.wordpress.com.

The 35th Annual ONS Congress will be held in San Diego, CA at the San Diego Convention Center Thursday, May 13, through Saturday, May 15. Exhibit hours are from 11am-5pm on Thursday; 8:30am-3pm on Friday; and 10am-3pm on Saturday.

PhaSeal is more than a system for the safe handling of hazardous drugs. It’s the only clinically proven closed-system drug transfer device (CSTD) available today and is validated by more than 10 independent, peer-reviewed, published clinical studies. Distinguished by prominent thought leaders as the “Gold Standard” in safe handling, PhaSeal’s airtight Expansion Chamber and leakproof Double Membrane connections prevent exposure to hazardous drugs, including aerosols and vapors, and make it the only system that meets the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and International Society of Oncology Pharmacy Practitioners (ISOPP) definition of a true CSTD. Its streamlined design and universally-compatible components make the system easy to use from preparation and administration to waste disposal.

The PhaSeal System is manufactured by Carmel Pharma AB in Gothenburg, Sweden and is distributed from its U.S. affiliate office, Carmel Pharma, Inc., in Columbus, OH. PhaSeal has been in use in the United States since 2000 and implemented in more than 1000 cancer facilities, infusion centers and private practices, including M.D. Anderson and Texas Children’s in Houston, TX; City of Hope in Duarte, CA; Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA; SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford, IL; and Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD, just to name a few.
