Double Digit Growth for the Italian E-Commerce in 2010 Boosts E-Business Consulting's International Growth

Figures for 2010 show a strong growth of the Italian e-commerce market, particularly in sectors with high internationalization levels.

Padova, Italy, May 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The 5th edition of the E-Commerce Forum took place on May 18th 2010 with the goal of identifying the new scenarios and trends of the electronic commerce in Italy.

During the event new data for the first quarter of 2010 was presented showing a countertrend with respect to the slowdown experimented as an aggregate in 2009.

The premises based on the total market statement for the first quarter of 2010 (+16%) show a strong recovery of the following sectors in particular:

- Fashion +51%
- IT and Electronics +24%
- Tourism +23%

The estimated growth rates for 2010 are set at a cautious +15% with an increase on orders of +21% in front of an invariable amount of the average sales check.

A remarkable note is that the firms selling tourism and fashion online receive 2/3 of their turnover from foreign countries.

The total turnover of digital purchasing in Italy is worth approximately 13 billion Euro, around 70% of which is Internet generated, 24% comes from Digital Television and 6% from Mobile. Online games are worth 27% of online turnover, with a 250% growth in the last year.
