America Haunts Scares Up 2010 Halloween Season Early for Comic-Con International

Early opening of The Haunted Hotel in San Diego enables America Haunts to showcase what visitors can expect this Fall.

San Diego, CA, July 23, 2010 --( In honor of the Comic-Con International Convention, July 22 – 25, in San Diego, America Haunts ( announced that it will be kicking off the 2010 Halloween season early with the special opening of The Haunted Hotel located at 424 Market St.

America Haunts is a group of the 18 scariest and most elaborate haunted houses and attractions in the United States, annually attracting more than one million visitors a year. Each attraction within the group is unique and features creative and innovative displays that horrify visitors.

“There has always been camaraderie between those of us in the haunted attraction industry and those who attend and participate at Comic-Con,” said Greg DeFatta, owner of The Haunted Hotel in San Diego. “Our opening coincides with the start of Comic-Con and provides America Haunts with the opportunity to showcase our newest attractions and get people pumped up for the 2010 Halloween season.”

The Haunted Hotel is a multi-room haunted house that brings scares and surprises at every turn. In 2008, it was named one of top 13 haunts in the nation by Haunt World Magazine. Special effects, animatronics and live characters are among the highlights for all who visit.
