New York, NY, July 31, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Segal Family Foundation and the Argentine Estate Winery Doña Paula sponsored the 2010 "Champions of Education" Benefit performance by Rachel Fine, following the Mercedes Benz Polo Challenge Opening Day at Blue Star Jet Field in Bridgehampton, NY on Saturday, July 24th.

The very special live performance by Sunset Recording vocal artist Rachel Fine was one of the highlights of the Red Carpet Reception for VIP guests of The MacDella Cooper Foundation (MCF). The exclusive event announced the construction of Phase 1 of the MCF Academy, scheduled to open in Liberia this fall for 50 students.

Fine performed an intimate private concert for the sold out VIP crowd, performing songs off her recently released debut album, "Own Your Own" (now available in stores globally) as well as covering some classics such as Simple Minds' "Don't You (Forget About Me)" and Paul McCartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed." Attendees included Countess LuAnn de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Jill & Bobby Zarin ("The Real Housewives of New York City"); Caroline Manzo, Dina Manzo, Jacqueline Laurito, Teresa Guidice ("The Real Housewives of New Jersey") among many other media, press, donors and celebrities.

The MacDella Cooper Foundation (MCF), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, was founded seven years ago and is devoted to empowering Liberian youth, especially orphans and abandoned children, by providing education and the basic necessities of food, clothing, and shelter while building the first tuition free schools in post-war Liberia.

Rachel Fine is honored to serve as the Chief Ambassador for the MacDella Cooper Foundation. Education has always been close to her heart; Fine holds an MS Ed. in elementary literacy and prior to pursuing her music career and full time work in the entertainment industry, Fine worked as the VP of US Operations for an international education company. Fine first became acquainted with MacDella when asked to sing the National Anthem alongside Zelma Davis at the 2009 "Sharing the Light" Gala. Immediately struck by the importance of MCF's work; Fine began to find ways to lend her voice and hands to building schools in Liberia. Fine has acted as Chief Ambassador since and hopes to bring more attention and further action to this crucial cause.
