New Year - New You Holidays in Dahab, Sinai, Egypt

Dahab in Sinai Egypt is now becoming Egypt’s top destination for alternative and new you holidays. Once a Bedouin village with Oasis and then a diver’s paradise. Dahab is now becoming just as famous for its land based activities including yoga retreats and much more.

Dahab, Sinai, Egypt, January 03, 2007 --(PR.com)-- In 2006 over 150 yoga holidays have been held in Dahab with in excess of 2500 participants. In 2007 this looks set to double with several excellent companies offering yoga holidays, many all year round, in several hotels around Dahab. Some of these include www.sunrayoga.com, www.yogatravel.co.uk and www.yogaonashoestring.com There are also new combinations of yoga holidays being held that were developed first in Dahab including Yoga Diving, Yoga & Free Diving, Yoga and Detox.

What makes Dahab perfect for these activity and new you holidays is its combination of the natural elements – Earth (Sinai’s rugged Mountains and Desert Landscapes), Air (clear blue skies most days of the year), Fire (the heat of the sun and the warmth of a Bedouin fire in the winter evenings), Water (the red sea and its wonderful coral reefs). The scenery is magnificent, with the mountains of Sinai to the west and the Mountains of Saudi Arabia to the east, the views around Dahab are like paintings which change everyday, and are especially beautiful at sunset and sunrise. Dahab’s Bedouin culture also adds another element to dahab’s delights making it an ideal choice for those who want to combine a sun and fun or alternative holiday, with a chance to experience Arabian Culture.

But it is not just yoga that is putting Dahab on the map as Egypt’s new you holiday destination. There are other holiday combinations being planned for 2007 that will aim to bring more unique visitors to Dahab. These include Belly Dance Holiday Workshops, Reiki and Crystal Healing, Meditation and Painting holidays. This is just for starters and more variations on the activity and holistic holiday themes are being planned for 2007.

“What is so good about these holidays is they are equally great for single people, as well as couples of groups of friends. I was working in London, in a busy job and I really needed a holiday, all my friends were busy so I thought what the heck I will go away on my own. I booked a yoga diving holiday with Sunra Yoga company - what I didn’t realise at the time that the holiday would change my life!” says Nicole, who is now a partner of the Spirit of Dahab Company. After moving to Dahab in 2005, she has now planned some of her own new you holidays here.

Dahab's mix of western expatriates, Egyptian and Bedouin People gives it a distinctive flavour and character that really can not be matched by any other resort in Egypt. Its relaxed and easy going atmosphere is ideal for single travellers, males and females of all ages. The town is small, so its not long before you have made friends with many of the people in this beautiful place, and you are never very far from a familiar face. Despite the troubles in April 2006, Dahab is still one of the safest places to visit in the world to visit especially for women visitors.

“We have an exciting plans for 2007, including our first yoga week with Sunra Yoga is being held on the 14th – 21st January at our Guest House called Sheikh Salem House. Then we have an excellent Detox Guru coming from 21st Jan – 4th February to run his new Detox and Yoga Holidays. This is ideal for anyone who has over done it with too much food and drink during the festive season.

“Then in March we start our Learn to Belly Dance Workshop Holidays 29th March – 12th April 2007. For women only, these workshops are being lead by one of Cairo’s top oriental dance performers and teachers. Just the ticket for those who want shape up and have fun this spring. See www.sheikhsalemhouse.com for information about new you holidays and activities in Dahab. This is just the beginning, I plan to work on more new areas and my aim, along with other holistic and yoga holiday providers is to make Dahab Egypt’s premier centre for alternative holidays. This is a really good thing for those who don’t want to dive or wind surf as Dahab has so much to offer on land especially for those who really want to get away from their busy and hectic lives.

“Come to Dahab,” says Nicole, “you never know, it might well change your life (like it has for hundreds of people who have visited from all over the world) or at the very least you could leave feeling fitter, healthier, inspired and above all happier.”
