Free Rap and Hip Hop Show with Sunset Urban Recording Artist, Mista Latex, Excites the Troops to the Corps at the FOB Sharona in Afghanistan

New York, NY, September 22, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Army soldiers are saluted for their part in the Afghanistan tour with a very special show with Sunset Urban Recording artist, Mista Latex.

The “Labor Day Weekend Hip Hop and Rap show” was billed as an outlet for army soldiers to let go with their very own “star-studded” lineup of music acts, featuring the powerful and exciting rap artist, Mista Latex (Sunset Urban). (Mista) Latex, known as SSG Dexter Nelams of the 92nd Engineer Battalion in the U.S. Army, had been trained based out of Fort Stewart in the United States, had decided to perform on this patriotic day exciting the entire FOB Sharona Theatre filled with Army and battalion mates.

He (Mista Latex) took the stage Saturday evening over the Labor Day weekend just after the opening act, Tracey Trevino (Government Staff Person on Fob Sharona Base), showed off her powerful vocals singing with a full band made up of other U.S. Army Soldiers from the 1092nd. They (PV1 Justin Flynn (rhythm guitar/vocals), SPC John Woods (bass), SFC Tim Kyer (lead guitar), CPT W. Craig Huffman, (drums), SGT Michael Wilts (drums), SGT Benny Lewis (vocals), Major John Wilkinson (guitar/vocals)) are not only music artists that had grown up in the United States, they are also music artists that are stationed in Afghanistan for the war.

Even for what was only a brief couple hours of live music, during a war in Afghanistan, that does “go a long way for our soldiers,” says Don Lichterman, the head of Sunset Urban. And, his Sunset Urban recording artist (Mista Latex) had the many soldiers that had been brought in from the many FOBS’ set up in that part of the world, on their feet, and excited about coming together for this major morale-booster put on for the troops. All over the theatre, the audience of soldiers shouted louder and louder after each song, and as each artist took to the stage. The festive like atmosphere in the theatre located directly on the FOB Sharona base, is said to be a pre cursor to the production of more live shows with the Sunset Urban Recording artist (Mista Latex). “The first priority is for the safety and for the soldiers to be aware of their surroundings,” says (Don) Lichterman and therefore, “even though they (Mista latex, Tracey Trevino, band made up of soldiers from the 1092nd) were excited at the overall reaction at the show,” and they “were excited to set up more live shows at many FOB’s in Afghanistan,” Lichterman continues to say, “I would rather them end the war so they can all play back in the states, but I am very opened to doing more shows at any time.”
