Sunset Records Soundtracks Sets Up the CD Releases, for the How Weed Won The West Film and for the American Drug War: The Last White Hope Award Winning Documentary Film.

Sunset Records is setting up the specially produced CD soundtracks from the hit documentary film, home video and DVD, American Drug War: The Last White Hope, and for the upcoming release of the film, How Weed Won The West. The two CDs stand apart from soundtracks that simply compile a selection of songs that were placed in the film. Moreover, the American Drug War CD will be a compilation CD of songs taken directly from the film, and also, there are plans to release a full length remix CD to accompany it, by the end of the year. However, the How Weed Won The West Soundtrack compilation will feature brand new tracks from artists Neele Scar, Ronnell Sessions, Panjoma, Norman A. Norman, Kevin Booth, Mista Latex, Travis Warren, Nick Knoc The Winter Project, 3 All Mighty and hip/hop pioneers Los Marijuanos, all set for the theme of the film. The How Weed Won The West Film is being released in select theatres in October 2010, coinciding with the release of this soundtrack CD. The American Drug War: The Last White Hope Film features cutting edge tracks from artists like, The Jetsuns, Phillip Morris, Litter Meet, Panjoma, Da Watchman, Beat Banga, Fugazi, Dye Nasty, The Rebel Soul Band, Bardo Pond, Hagler, Jimi Jyve, Flux Future, Kevin Booth along with traditional blues legend, Blind Willy Johnson, all had songs used in the film. The CD Soundtrack also plans to make available commercially for the first time, the “White Lines” remix from DJ-RX, using the vocals of George Bush.

The film’s producer (Kevin Booth), the project’s producer / mixer (Ryan Kaye) along with the Soundtrack CD producer and label head, Don Lichterman, listened to dozens of songs before narrowing that group down to the ones best suited considering the specific themes in each of the films. Executive Producer, Album Producer and Record Label Head Don Lichterman says that “We came at each of these three (3) projects in very different ways, but at the same time; we reviewed a ton of music to not only find the songs that fit into each concept perfectly, we will also pick the songs that will remind people of the actual film.” (Don) Lichterman then says that he “couldn't be more pleased at the response because as I think about it today, we signed one artist and are talking to some others about running their music through the Sunset labels, and most of all, I know that music fans and soundtrack fans will be getting something new, innovative, edgy as a final product.''
